I'm Capt. Warren Hinrichs, a Coast Guard licensed fly fishing and light-tackle guide based in Jacksonville, FL.
I specialize in fly fishing and light-tackle charters in the salt flats,
salt marshes and Intracoastal back country between Amelia Island and St.
Augustine. I also fish the flats of Mosquito Lagoon & the Indian River.
In North Florida's salt marsh estuaries you can sight-fish with
top-water lures or fling a fly to dozens of fish species. It's a
year 'round exciting fishery.
BACK COUNTRY FISH SPECIES INCLUDE:
- Redfish (also known as red drum and puppy drum)
- Seatrout (spotted sea trout, speckled trout)
- Jacks (jack crevalle)
- Flounder (summer flounder and winter flounder)
- Tarpon (silver kings, babies and big boys, too)
- Sheepshead (a very elusive fly rod species!)

SURROUNDED BY WATER
Called Florida's First Coast, we're literally surrounded by fishing waters -- from the
St. Johns, St. Marys, Nassau, and Matanzas rivers, to 200 miles of
Atlantic Ocean coastline, to the thousands of miles of Intracoastal and salt
marsh and barrier island fisheries. Florida's First Coast fisheries include the salt marshes,
beaches and back country of:
- Fernandina, Amelia Island
- Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beaches
- Ponte Vedra
and
- historic St. Augustine.
